Children and Community Program Partners
Toddler Time
Connect with other parents and caregivers at our Toddler Time drop-in play group for year-round fun. For children and families of all ages! Presented by Maple Valley Family Circle.
If interested in volunteering, please come to the office to fill out a volunteer application.
Tuesdays & Thursdays, September - May (Tuesdays only during summer)
10:00 - 11:30 am, cost is $3 per family

Friends N' Fun
One of the most valuable partnerships enjoyed by the Community Center is with Friends N’ Fun, a social activities group for Maple Valley area residents with special needs. The group is designed for individuals ages 16 and up and meets on Tuesday evenings at the Center or the Den, depending on that evening’s activity. Friends N’ Fun provides these young adults with the opportunity to socially engage with their peers in a fun setting, often leading to the formation of lifelong friendships.
Friends N' Fun meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays from 6:30-8:00pm in The Main Hall, and every 3rd Tuesday from 6:30-8:00pm in the Den.
Homeschool Support
Does your child struggle at school? Is your little one just not ready to deal with crowds of children in a public school situation? Perhaps your family situation or business would allow you to travel often, and you want everyone to enjoy the opportunity. Have you heard so many wonderful things about homeschooling that you just want to see what it’s all about? Families decide to homeschool for all sorts of reasons, and then often continue homeschooling simply because of the freedom and they like the effect it's had on their children and family life. Come hang out and meet other homeschooling families, make friends and become part of our homeschooling community!
Maple Valley Homeschoolers meets every Tuesday from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm in the Main Hall.
Reading with Love
The Reading with Love program pairs young students who need support in reading and writing with volunteers to help foster confidence and a love of learning.
We meet every Monday and Thursday from 4:00-4:45pm in the Den during the school year. (Thursdays only at10:00-10:45am in the summer)

Arts for All
Arts for All works with diverse learning styles to offer art, dance and theater to differently-abled teens and young adults.
The group meets on Tuesdays at 2:00pm in the Main Hall (Sept. - June).

Covington Quilters
Covington Quilters guild promotes and exchanges the art of quilting and quilt making through the use of monthly meetings, satellite groups, and workshops. The group meets in the Main Hall at the Greater Maple Valley Community Center on the first Thursday of each month from 7 - 9 pm.

Book/Puzzle Lending Closet
Come check out our book & puzzle lending library! Books and puzzles are available to borrow, and we take donations of books and puzzles in good condition. Stop by anytime M-F 9am-5pm.

Medical Equipment Lending Closet
GMVCC maintains a lending closet for use by anyone who needs bathroom or walking aids. All equipment is available for loan free of charge. Donated items include canes, crutches, walkers, knee scooters, shower chairs, bedside commodes, toilet risers and wheelchairs (inventory will vary based on availability).

Alcoholics Anonymous
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others recover from alcoholism.
Alcoholics Anonymous meets in the main hall at the Greater Maple Valley Community Center each Wednesday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.

Foster Champs
Fun, training, and fellowship for families who have adopted, are considering foster care/adoption, or who provide foster care! Please bring a snack, game, or craft to share. All ages are welcome. No childcare provided, however, the facility is child-friendly.
Foster Champs meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 5:00-8:00 pm in the Main Hall.

Maple Valley Rotary
Our 70+ members comprise a collection of business owners and professionals who live the mission of Rotary - service above self. One main focus of our club is supporting youth, both locally and internationally. We run or contribute to projects throughout the year both in our own community and in international communities as diverse as Cameroon, Cambodia, and Nicaragua. We also believe wholeheartedly in serving with smiles on our faces. Stop by one of our weekly meetings - Friday mornings at 7:15 a.m. at GMVCC to enjoy a great breakfast and a great time with community members who truly put the needs of the community first above all else.

Cascade Regional Blood Services
The Bloodmobile visits the Community Center on a quarterly basis to accept donations of blood.
Appointments are made directly through CRBS.net.
Lions Club Eyeglass Collection
We serve as a collection site for the Lions Club’s eyeglass collection program. Donated glasses are repurposed for those who need them the most.
Maple Valley Food Bank Collection Site
The Community Center serves as a collection site for the Maple Valley Food Bank. We accept food year round and transition to include toys during the Christmas season.
Emergency Preparedness
We are truly fortunate to live in an environment where natural disasters and emergences are fairly rare. But our string of good luck won’t last forever and we need to be ready when the next earthquake rumbles, Mt. Rainier blows its top, or we encounter some manmade disaster. Now is the time to prepare.
To help facilitate this, the Community Center works with local citizens to be ready when needed. Among other things, we participate in the City’s annual Emergency Preparedness Fair in the fall, we provide education on how to prepare, and we have an agreement to make our facility available to the Red Cross in the event of a regional emergency.
It’s never too late to begin getting ready. If you have taken steps to prepare, this event is a great opportunity to review and update your plans and emergency supplies for both your home and your business. You can get a headstart on your emergency preparations by putting together the things that you will need in your Go-Bag in the event of a disaster. You can find a list of items to put aside here. While you will want to customize your list based on your personal needs, it’s a great place to start.
