Welcome to VOLT. Volt is a local nightclub specifically created for the enjoyment of Junior and Senior High School students. Volt is open every Saturday night from 8 to 11:30 pm. Admission is only $3.00 per person at the door. Expect music, dancing, and karaoke, and very comfortable bean bags.

Want to do a concert at The Den? Submit a Concert Application Form (PDF 1 MB) to request a date. Please allow at least 2 weeks before following-up on your booking request. Send us your CD or link to a Myspace page that has an example of your music. Live concert performances will be recorded. Individual recording sessions are available.

Amazing Race
Get a Handle on UR Gamble
Maple Valley Youth Council is pleased to present our second annual Amazing Race (PDF 771 KB) Maple Valley style. This event sponsored by the Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling encourages youth to make healthy lifestyle choices and Get a Handle on UR Gamble. Sign your team up today (PDF 71 KB) and compete to win a $500 Cash Grand Prize!
Registration fee is $20 per person or $40 per 2-person team. First team member must be between the ages of 12 to 18 years old, and your second team member can be a youth or an adult. Transportation to challenge locations will be provided. Lunch is provided.
Pre-registration is required. All participants must submit a completed a registration packet (PDF 71 KB). Deadline extended…space limited sign up today for the Amazing Race.
There will be an awards ceremony at the end of the event. All prizes will be awarded at the ceremony. Prizes will include a prize for the first team at each pit stop and grand prize of $500. At lunch there will be a drawing to allow 5 eliminated teams that have filled out the post evaluation to be put back into the race.
Rules for the Race
- Teams are required to stay together at all times.
- One member of the team must between 12 to 18 years old.
- Team may ONLY use materials given in the challenge. NO outside materials or help.
- Teams are allowed to take only one clue from each box.
- At each check point one or more teams will be eliminated (based on time and completing all tasks).

Local Business Host and Sponsorship Opportunities
For information about hosting a challenge (PDF 421 KB) or becoming a program sponsor, contact Kristiane or call the Community Center at 425-432-1272. Businesses can choose or create their own challenge. Hosts must sign up by 4/30/2010 and attend the hosts logistic meeting on May 10, 2010. All teams will sign waiver forms releasing hosts from liability. There must be at least one person present to make sure teams complete the challenges.

Battle of the Bands
Face-off in the Valley
We want you to be a part of the 2010 Battle of the Bands! Continuing a long and epic tradition, the Maple Valley Youth Council will be hosting another Battle of the Bands this coming January. Expect large screaming audiences, and considerable prizes for the best three bands. In previous years, we gave away cool loot and recording time to the top performing bands.
Twelve bands will be chosen by Maple Valley Youth Council to compete in the 2010 Battle of the Bands. The majority of band members must be under 23 years of age. Each band will have twenty minutes of play time and your playlist must include at least one original song. Prizes will be awarded to the top three bands. If you want to perform, then just download the Battle of the Bands Application Packet (PDF 843 KB) and start filling it out. Get it back to us by before the registration deadline. Each individual band member must also complete and sign the performer contract. All proceeds from band registrations benefit Maple Valley Youth Council projects.
Tech Specifications: The Den uses a Mackie Onyx 24.4 mixer into EAW mains and subs. The Den will provide a sound engineer for the event. Any specific sound requests must be submitted to The Den at least seven (7) days prior to show date.
