Community First Award
The Community Center’s Board of Directors is now accepting nominations for the 2023 Community First Awards. The Board will present two Community First awards at our 2023 Benefit Breakfast (March 16, 2023), one to an individual and one to a business or organization.
The Greater Maple Valley Community Center’s Community First Awards will be given for outstanding community service, public service and/or significant charitable or philanthropic contributions of benefit to the community.
The Awards are neither in conflict nor in competition with any international, regional or country awards. The Community First Awards are given in recognition of outstanding services to the community, society and humanity. The acquisition of wealth, business achievements and positions, academic scholarship, or achievements in any other field of human endeavor are not part of the selection criteria.
Nomination forms need to be emailed to email@example.com or mailed to Maple Valley Community Center, 22010 SE 248th St. Maple Valley, WA 98038. The deadline to receive nominations is February 23, 2023.
We are particularly excited about this process because we haven’t been able to present these awards for two years because of COVID restrictions. In 2019, the Board of Directors recognized Tahoma School District employee Gretchen Wulfing as the individual winner and Johnsons Home & Garden (represented by Brad Johnson) as the business winner.
